I LOVE this place and so does my family. Great vegetarian options. Everything is so fresh and delicious. The owners are great people too and so warm. My favorite restaurant in Morgantown currently! (P.S. all of the merchandise in the photos is hand made by one of the gentlemen that runs it. On slow days, you can watch him make it. Love it.)

May, 2025, Update.... Food remains delicious. Excellent service. Great turkish tea. Love the appetizers with fresh pita bread! May 2024 Muhammet remains an incredible owner/host. Amen was a most attentive and pleasant waiter. The Turkish food here is incredibly delicious, of the finest quality! Truly gourmet. The Turkish tea is a treat. Today we enjoyed Jungle Babaganush, carrot tarator, Ali nadir lamb, shakshuka, and of course freshly made baklava! There is also a nice little display of Turkish jewelry, scarves, leather works, and mosaic lamps for sale. I wish I lived closer, I would eat here every week! Update October 2023 Fantastic food, great service. Turkish tea and coffee was delightful! Appetizers delicious! See photos! Update May 2023...back again. Love this place! Once again, Muhammet (owner/host) made us feel so welcome. Delicious lamb shank with rice pilaf, homemade pita bread and hummus, dolmas, turkish tea, and baklava. All homemade! They now sell Turkish goods in the store-- jewelry, leather bags, scarves, etc. See photos. Can't wait to return Update on 8/15/21... just returned to visit second time. Fantastic tea and pistachio rolls! Muhammet, the owner/host, was so gracious sharing his culture with us. He made us feel so welcome. Can't wait to return. Turkish tabouli, dolmades, hummus.. yummy food. We will be back for third visit soon.... Summer 2020-Original visit- The appetizer combo gives you an excellent introduction to Turkish food. Delicious. The hosts/servers/chef/owners ( same folks) were so very welcoming and gracious, explaining the foods, offering tastes etc. Turkish tea great flavor. Baklava off the charts! Go here now! Great service.

If you eat nowhere else in Morgantown, you must eat here! Best Turkish restaurant I've ever had. Don't miss the combo appetizer hidden under the vegetarian heading. It is a combination of almost every appetizer. See the photo with small bowls. Very generous servings. Perfect seasonings. This place is unbelievably good. It is definitely a sit and relax and enjoy your meal type of place. They even treated us to complimentary Turkish tea after the meal. I've had Middle Eastern food in many places up and down the East Coast and had never found anything quite like this experience. Don't miss the handcrafted jewelry.

Had such a great experience at Istanbul. I took my girlfriend here for her birthday and they seriously made it so special. The vibe was super nice and chill, and the staff were all really friendly from the start. The food was amazing too and everything we got was really good and came out looking just as good as it tasted. But the best part was how they handled her birthday. They went out of their way to make it feel special without it being over the top or awkward. You could tell they actually cared, which made a huge difference. Definitely one of those places I’d come back to again and again. Highly recommend if you’re trying to do something nice for someone.

Was passing by and saw the sign and wanted to try it since we have been missing the taste of good Turkish food. This place did not disappoint. It brought us back to Istanbul, especially with that havuç tarator. The adana was very good, but the kofte was on point. Everything was tasty and hot.

Place was jam packed and they immediately apologized there would be an extensive wait, but sat us and gave us menus soon after. Food was absolutely fantastic and some of the most authentic food in the Morgantown area. Sad it took 5 years in the area to finally try it, will be back much sooner!

I can’t say enough good things about Istanbul Restaurant. I chose to celebrate my birthday dinner here with a group of friends, and it was the best decision ever. From the moment we walked in, the staff was incredibly kind, attentive, and welcoming—just like they always are every time I visit. I had asked ahead of time if I could bring my own birthday cake, and they were more than happy to accommodate. Not only that, but they truly went above and beyond—they brought the cake out to my table, lit the candle, played a birthday song, and provided plates and everything we needed to share it. It made the night feel so special and memorable. And the food? Always amazing. Every single time. You can genuinely taste the quality and care in every dish. The hospitality here is unmatched, and it’s exactly why this is my favorite restaurant in Morgantown. 10/10, I will always recommend Istanbul to anyone looking for incredible food and even better service.

This is probably my favorite restaurant in Morgantown. I will ALWAYS recommend it to people. The food here is SOOOO good. Its a cute "mom and pop" restaurant type of atmosphere. Parking can be difficult at peak hours, but if you have the chance to try their food, go for it! Pictured here is Beyti with Lamb and Chicken Shish. Both delicious, of course.

Really good food here. Familiar mediterranean dishes but more Turkish cuisine. Grape leaves are awesome even served cold. I had the Ali Nazik - grilled lamb over roasted puréed eggplant and yogurt with a sun dried tomato sauce. Sigara Borek- pastry with feta and parsley was really great. First time trying chocolate baklava too. Even the boys liked it! Great food and the staff are very friendly.
